Custom storage box

I am deep into a lovely little commission, a European oak storage box. This is to house

some beautiful artwork encased in its own frame.

The main box is European oak, mitred together with fumed chestnut mitre keys.

The top is a mixture of a rich brown fumed chestnut and dyed poplar marquetry, with a oak and wenge frame.

The top is hinged on brass stopped hinges (so the lid doesn't flop back when open) and a lovely brass push catch.
